£1,000 Grant Success for Community Ride Project CIC!

Published on 15 September 2026 at 10:44

We’re really excited to share some fantastic news for Community Ride Project CIC and the future of Pooley Bike Park.

We have successfully secured a £1,000 grant from Warwickshire County Council to support our Pooley Community Trails & Confidence Project.

For a growing community organisation like ours, funding like this makes a genuine difference. It allows us to turn ideas into action and continue investing in a local riding facility that can be enjoyed by the whole community.

Supporting the development of Pooley Bike Park

The funding will be split across two important areas of the project.

£500 will contribute towards volunteer-led trail improvements at Pooley Bike Park, helping provide materials for upcoming trail development and supporting the continued improvement, sustainability and progression of the bike park.

The remaining £500 will fund two FREE Community Confidence Ride Sessions, with spaces for up to six people on each session.

These sessions will be about much more than simply riding a bike. We want to help people build confidence, develop their trail skills, get outdoors and enjoy being active alongside other people.

Each session will also finish with refreshments and an opportunity to spend some time together off the bikes. Creating that social connection is a really important part of what Community Ride Project is all about.

A huge thank you to Cllr Stephen Shaw

We want to give a special shout-out and a massive thank you to Cllr Stephen Shaw (Polesworth) for supporting the project.

Having people who recognise what we’re trying to achieve and are willing to champion projects like this makes a huge difference.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support from Warwickshire County Council and we’re looking forward to showing exactly what this £1,000 can help us achieve.

Working together at Pooley

We’ll be delivering the project alongside Pooley Park MTB Club and local volunteers.

That partnership is really important to us. The physical improvements we make to the trails will remain long after the grant has been spent, benefiting riders who visit Pooley Bike Park for years to come.

It’s a great example of what can happen when funding, volunteers, local organisations and the riding community all come together.

This is what Community Ride Project is about

Our aim with Community Ride Project CIC is simple: use cycling and the outdoors to create opportunities for people.

Whether that’s helping someone find the confidence to ride a trail for the first time, supporting young riders, encouraging more women into mountain biking, bringing people together through social rides or helping improve the places where our community rides.

This grant is another small but important step forward.

Now it’s time to get stuck in!

We’ll be sharing updates from the project, so stay tuned to our socials!

A huge thank you once again to Warwickshire County Council, Cllr Stephen Shaw, Pooley Park MTB Club and everyone who continues to support Community Ride Project CIC.

More rides. More opportunities. Stronger communities.
