The vision
Community Ride Project CIC was created from a simple belief: everyone should have the opportunity to experience the benefits of cycling, regardless of their age, ability, background, or circumstances.
As lifelong cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts, we have seen first-hand how cycling can transform lives. It builds confidence, improves physical and mental wellbeing, creates friendships, and helps people develop a stronger connection with their local community and the natural environment. However, we’ve also seen that many people face barriers to participation, whether that’s a lack of confidence, limited opportunities, financial challenges, or simply not knowing where to start.
We established Community Ride Project CIC to break down those barriers and create inclusive opportunities for more people to get involved. Through community rides, youth development programmes, women’s cycling initiatives, volunteer projects, and trail development, we aim to make cycling accessible, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.
Our passion comes from seeing the positive impact these activities have on people’s lives. Whether it’s a young rider gaining confidence, someone making new friends on a social ride, a volunteer developing new skills, or a family discovering the outdoors together, these moments remind us why our work matters.
We believe cycling is far more than just riding a bike, it’s a powerful tool for improving wellbeing, strengthening communities, and creating lasting positive change.
Alongside the directors, Community Ride Project CIC is supported by volunteers, ride leaders, coaches, community partners, and local supporters who contribute their time, skills, and enthusiasm to help deliver activities and projects across Staffordshire and the wider area.
Together, the team is committed to creating inclusive opportunities that improve health, wellbeing, confidence, social connection, and access to the outdoors through cycling.
